CHOI MYUNG-BOK: EXPERIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INTERNATIONAL VISION IN THE SERVICE OF A NEW BRIDGE BETWEEN BRAZIL AND SOUTH KOREA

South Korea has built, over the past decades, an international trajectory marked by innovation, technology, business capability and the opening of new markets. Behind this growth are professionals who have followed different moments of the country’s economic and technological transformation and who today bring together enough experience to contribute to new international connections.

Among these names is Mr. Choi Myung-bok, a South Korean professional with a career spanning areas such as information technology, international trade, marketing, sales and energy, who now takes on an important institutional position as President of the TUERI Institute – South Korea.

His arrival in the Institute’s international structure represents much more than holding a position: it symbolizes the construction of a strategic bridge between Brazil and South Korea, connecting experiences, opportunities, companies, technologies and projects capable of generating economic development and social impact.

FROM ACADEMIC EDUCATION TO THE BUILDING OF A SOLID CAREER

Born on March 16, 1957, Choi Myung-bok built his academic background at Dankook University, where he studied, between March 1977 and February 1984, for a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education — a higher education degree related to the teaching of Mathematics. Mathematics, by its very nature, requires logical reasoning, planning, analysis and the ability to solve problems. These characteristics directly relate to the professional paths Choi would later follow.

His professional history demonstrates an ability to move across different sectors without losing a central element: technology as a tool for development and business vision as an instrument for expansion.

NEARLY TWO DECADES CONNECTED TO TECHNOLOGY

Between December 1984 and December 2003, Choi Myung-bok worked at Hyundai Department Store, as part of the Information Technology department.

During this period, he carried out activities related to systems development and operations, accumulating approximately two decades of professional experience at a historic moment when computerization was rapidly advancing within South Korean organizations. Choi_Myung_bok_CV_260912_164010.pdf

This experience is especially significant because it demonstrates a career that began long before digital transformation became a recurring expression in the business world.

Choi professionally witnessed a period in which technological systems gradually ceased to be merely auxiliary tools and became a central part of companies’ operations, management and competitiveness.

FROM THE TECHNOLOGY SECTOR TO INTERNATIONAL TRADE

In January 2004, a new stage began.

Choi Myung-bok joined SDGC Co., Ltd., remaining connected to the company until September 2026, according to the curriculum vitae presented.

His work came to include international intermediary trade, as well as marketing and sales of solar panels and batteries. Choi_Myung_bok_CV_260912_164010.pdf

The transition demonstrates a significant expansion of his professional experience.

After a long career related to information technology, Choi moved into activities directly related to international business, commercialization and relationships between markets.

At the same time, his experience with solar panels and batteries brings him closer to one of the most strategic sectors of the 21st century: the development of energy solutions and technologies related to sustainability.

Technology, energy and internationalization therefore become three important pillars of his career.

CHOI MYUNG-BOK AND A CAREER BUILT AROUND TRANSFORMATIONS

When viewed as a whole, his trajectory reveals different stages of professional development.

First, an academic background based on mathematics.

Then, approximately two decades connected to systems and information technology.

Next, more than two decades of experience involving international trade, marketing, sales, solar panels and batteries.

These are different experiences, but connected by the ability to understand changes, adapt to new scenarios and participate in transforming markets.

And this experience now takes on a new dimension.

PRESIDENT OF THE TUERI INSTITUTE – SOUTH KOREA

Choi Myung-bok also takes on an important institutional mission as President of the TUERI Institute – South Korea, becoming part of the institution’s internationalization process and strengthening its presence in that country.

The Presidency of the TUERI Institute in South Korea begins with a strategic responsibility: to contribute to building connections between Brazil and the South Korean ecosystem, promoting institutional rapprochement and creating pathways for future cooperation.

Within TUERI’s international expansion proposal, South Korea occupies an especially relevant position.

It is a nation recognized worldwide for its ability to transform science, education, technology, industry and innovation into economic development.

It is precisely within this environment that the TUERI Institute intends to strengthen its presence.

BRAZIL AND SOUTH KOREA: A BRIDGE THAT IS BEGINNING TO BE BUILT

The presence of Choi Myung-bok at the head of the TUERI Institute – South Korea expands the possibilities for dialogue between the two countries.

The purpose is to build bridges.

Bridges between businesspeople.

Bridges between professionals.

Bridges between institutions.

Bridges between technologies.

Bridges between social projects and economic opportunities.

And, above all, bridges capable of transforming good institutional relationships into concrete projects.

The TUERI Institute works with a vision that brings together human development, inclusion, health, technology, science, innovation, education, entrepreneurship and international cooperation.

In this context, the South Korean representation may contribute to bringing together different stakeholders interested in building Brazil–Korea projects.

EXPERIENCE TO OPEN PATHWAYS

The internationalization of an institution does not happen only through the signing of documents.

It happens through people.

People capable of establishing dialogue.

People who understand the business environment.

People who understand cultural differences.

People capable of bringing interests closer together and transforming a first meeting into a future partnership.

It is precisely at this point that the experience accumulated by Choi Myung-bok may represent an important differential.

His background in the technology sector, his business experience and his work in international trade provide an important foundation for this new institutional mission.

A NEW STAGE FOR THE TUERI INSTITUTE

The presence of the TUERI Institute in South Korea represents a new chapter within a project that was born in Brazil, but which understands that many of today’s great challenges require international cooperation.

Health, technology, innovation, human development, energy, education and entrepreneurship have no borders.

Shared knowledge can transform realities.

Technology applied with purpose can save lives.

Good connections can open markets.

And relationships built with responsibility can generate opportunities for thousands of people.

For this reason, the appointment of Mr. Choi Myung-bok as President of the TUERI Institute – South Korea also represents the consolidation of a vision: to create a permanent channel of rapprochement between two countries that have much to teach, share and build together.

MORE THAN A POSITION, A MISSION

There are moments when all the experience built over decades finds a new purpose.

For Choi Myung-bok, this new moment unites past and future.

Mathematics provided the education.

Technology provided experience.

International trade expanded borders.

The energy sector brought contact with new solutions.

And now institutional cooperation may transform all this experience into a platform for bringing together people, companies and nations.

The challenge ahead is great.

But it is also proportional to the opportunities that exist.

Brazil has a market, diversity, resources, professionals and enormous demands for innovation.

South Korea has technology, industry, knowledge, research and development capacity.

When two environments like these find people willing to build bridges, new stories can begin.

And this story is only beginning.

MY THOUGHT

“There are people who pass through our journey and there are those who arrive carrying a mission. I believe that great projects are not built only through structures, but through people who understand that knowledge, experience and relationships only reach their true value when they are placed at the service of something greater. Brazil and South Korea are building a bridge, and every bridge built with purpose can transform thousands of destinies.”

BIBLE VERSE
